2. From Late 1970 to January 1975
From Late 1970 to January 1975, the banking system was liberalized once again order to ensure that private bank could operate under NBC’s supervision and regulation as other state banks did. During Pol Pot regime from April 1975 to January 1979, the banking system was totally destroyed, the Riel bank note were abandoned and additionally, NBC building was fully wrecked.
3. In the last 20-years stage after 1979
NBC was re-established on October 10, 1979. In the last 20-year stage, the history of Cambodian monetary institution can be divided into two different stages, from 1979 to 1993, and after 1993.
